
The weekend storms set a few records Sunday in San Diego County when it comes to lowest maximum temperatures and rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
Vista broke a 45-year-old record by only reaching a high of 60 degrees. It was 61 degrees for a high on the same date in 1971. El Cajon also reached a high of 60 degrees Sunday, breaking the record of 61 degrees set last year. Alpine tied a 46-year-old record of 52 degrees for a high on the same date in 1970, the weather service said.
Oceanside Harbor received .45 of an inch of rain Sunday, breaking the previous record of .40 of an inch that was set in 1997. Rainfall records have been recorded there by the weather service since 1909.
One inch of snow fell on Mount Laguna during a 48-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Sunday, according to the weather service while a half-inch of snow was recorded atop Mount Palomar during the same period.
Rain totals as of Sunday afternoon include about an inch in Fallbrook, Alpine Lakeside and Santa Ysabel, with about a half-inch in Carlsbad, La Jolla, Linda Vista, Scripps Ranch, Lake Murray and El Cajon, according to the weather service.
