A Camp Pendleton Marine who was missing for a week is reportedly safely back on the base.

Lance Cpl. John Hair — who was scheduled to be deployed for the first time — turned himself in this weekend, his sister Melissa Hair told 10News. However, John Hair could be in trouble for skipping out on his deployment, the station reported.

Melissa Hair said surveillance video at a train station in Oceanside showed Hair getting off the train on Oct. 7, walking under the tunnel and heading toward the beach. Then he vanished and did not show up for work. Melissa Hair told 10News her brother is facing an upcoming deployment but was looking forward it.

The Oceanside Police Department had no information on John Hair, and the Camp Pendleton public information office did not return calls from City News Service seeking comment on his situation.
