The Dailey Method, a workout studio in Rancho Bernardo, announced Tuesday it raised more than $2,000 at its annual “Burn Bright for Kylie” fundraiser last week.
Held during childhood cancer awareness month, the event included six donation-based classes and a bake sale to honor the two-year-old who lost her battle to neuroblastoma last year and to raise funds for the Kylie Rowand Foundation.
“Many of our members cheered and prayed daily for Kylie during her 10-month battle of neuroblastoma,” said studio owner Stephanie Firenze. “Our lives were forever touched by this little princess warrior with a beautiful smile. It was an honor to workout with her spirit motivating us.”
The Kylie Rowand Foundation is a nonprofit organization assisting in funding clinical research trials that are proving to be instrumental in the fight against childhood cancer. Aside from donating to research, the organization also helps families with its “Love Like Kylie” and “Kylie Kare” initiatives. The programs provide gift baskets to children battling cancer and assist families during the financial struggles that haunt them as a victim of childhood cancer.
“I felt so much love for Kylie at the studio. So many women, with hearts of pure gold, all came together to make a difference,” said Kylie’s mom, Bree Rowand. “I’m extremely grateful to Stephanie for hosting this special event. These funds are crucial as we’re currently helping seven families with their mortgage payments. We know firsthand how difficult life can be when faced with this unthinkable situation and it’s our mission to help in any way we can.”
