Recurring closures of one lane on northbound State Route 75 – the San Diego-Coronado Bridge – are scheduled to begin Tuesday morning.
The closure will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The same lane closure is expected to take place two to three times per week through late 2018.
The closures are needed to allow crews to deliver materials and perform maintenance in connection with a project to paint steel surfaces and construct traveler systems inside the bridge, according to Caltrans. The traveler systems will be used for structural steel inspections.
The $20.6 million project began construction in November 2015 and is expected to be complete in late 2018.
Motorists are reminded to slow and to move over a lane when safe to do so when highway workers are present and amber lights are flashing.
