It’s the first week after the time change and there’s a heat wave. Get out of the house and enjoy all that San Diego has too offer this weekend.

San Diego Asian Film Festival

San Diego’s premier festival showcasing Asian-American and films from Asian returns for its 15th year. San Diego Asian Film Festival  is the largest exhibition of Asian films in the West Coast.

With more than 140 films from more than 21 countries, many are world or US premieres, the festival gives San Diegans a chance to discover Asian cinema.

The festival spans two week, from Nov. 6 to 15 at various locations. Tickets start at $12.

San Diego Beer Week

With more than 90 breweries in San Diego, it’ll take a week to sample them all. San Diego Beer Week is a 10-day celebration of local craft beers at multiple locations throughout the county.

The event starts Friday and goes to Nov. 16 and event times varies.

Fall Back Festival

“Spring forward, fall back” applies to time in more ways than one. This Sunday at 14th Annual Fall Back Festival, you can venture back in time to the 1880s in the front of the Gaslamp Museum.

Families can enjoy more than 30 free activities and crafts, along with a Wild West show, pony rides, and pie and ice cream eating contests.

Hosted by the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, the Fall Back Festival goes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Young People’s Concert

A great way to introduce school-age children to classical music, the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus will hold its second Young People’s Concert on Friday.

The free concert will feature Gustav Mahler’s Syphony No. 5 conducted by Steven Schick, who will provide commentary from the podium.

The concert is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mandeville Auditorium at UCSD.

EXPOSURE 2014: World’s Biggest All Female Skateboarding Competition

The biggest all-female skateboarding competition in the world, EXPOSURE 2014 takes place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday  at the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA in Encinitas. Admission is free for spectators.

EXPOSURE 2014 is the largest in the three-year history of the event, boasting a record number of competitors and sponsors. Professional and amateur skaters will vie for podium spots in the Urban Remedy Bowl Bash and the PTA Vert Jam.

The international field features riders from Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland. U.S. states represented include Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

Clever Talks

The brainchild of a local journalist, the TED-like conference, Clever Talks, will feature 10 innovative thinkers and San Diego’s leading Kickstarter innovators such as “The Undress” creators, the “OwnPhones” creator, and the “iWinks” creator.

A conference for the younger generation, Clever Talks goes from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the San Diego Convention Center. Tickets are $30 per person.
