Most outbound flights were temporarily on hold at Lindbergh Field Wednesday afternoon due to a problem with air-traffic control equipment, an airport spokeswoman says.
The problem affecting outbound flights was resolved, the spokeswoman said, soon after and flights are expected to be back on schedule soon.
Incoming flights were unaffected.
It’s unclear how long the problem will last. There was also a wind warning in effect at Lindbergh Field Wednesday.
It appears to also be affecting airports throughout the Los Angeles area, reports the Los Angeles Times, including LAX, John Wayne Airport in Orange County and Bob Hope Airport in Burbank.
The Times web site reports the FAA stopped departures at those sites at about 2 p.m.
