The City of Oceanside launched a mobile application Monday for residents to learn about environmental programs and submit requests for services.

The Green Oceanside app will provide environmental news, eco-friendly class and event listings and city social media posts.

Users can also upload photos that will be seen by city officials.

The app is expected to become available Tuesday in Apple’s iTunes store as well as Google’s store for Android devices.

The city also announced that its annual Earth Festival will be held Sunday. The downtown event will include demonstrations, crafts, music and sales of drought-tolerant plants.
