
The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency Monday reported 178 new COVID-19 infections and four additional virus-related deaths.
Monday’s data increased the county’s cumulative coronavirus totals to 753,474 cases and 5,219 deaths. The data follows a weekend with 376 new infections counted Saturday and 215 Sunday. The HHSA does not report COVID data on weekends.
COVID hospitalizations in the county increased by 54 patients.
So far 4.0% of county residents with confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been hospitalized and 0.7% have died of the disease.
A total of 1,221,004 — or 55.7% — of San Diego County residents who are fully vaccinated have received a booster shot, according to the agency.
More than 2.95 million — or 94.0% — of San Diego County residents age 5 and older are at least partially vaccinated and 2.59 million, or 82.6%, are fully vaccinated.
