Clairemont High School was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon following what the San Diego Police Department said was a “credible threat.”
That threat, however, was later found to be unfounded and the lockdown was later lifted.
“If you wish to pick up your student, the campus is no longer on lock down and school has resumed,” SDPD posted to social media.

Law enforcement conducted a sweep of the campus, SDPD said. The department added that nearby Marston Middle School was also placed on lockdown as of about 12:30 p.m. out of “an abundance of caution,” but that too was lifted.
This story was updated Mon. Sept. 22 at 2:38 p.m. to reflect that the lockdowns were lifted.
