
Authorities have released the names of seven people who lost their lives in recent traffic accidents – the victims include two motorcyclists and two pedestrians.
The most recent of the fatalities took place June 15, when a car struck Joshua Gentle, 53, of San Diego at Clairemont Drive and Iroquois Avenue in Bay Park, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics took Gentle to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly before 10 p.m.
On June 6, Kevin Webb, 46, was injured in his hometown of El Cajon when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Interstate 8 near Greenfield Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. An ambulance crew took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital San Diego, where he succumbed to his injuries 17 days later.
On June 4, a Riverside County woman was killed in a crash in a Pacific Beach intersection. Savannah Marquez, 21, of Hemet, who was riding in a car that collided with an SUV at Grand Avenue and Mission Bay Drive shortly before 10 p.m., died at the scene.
Early that same day, Michael Redzio of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, lost his life in a crash in the 1200 block of East Harbor Drive in National City. Redzio, 24, was driving a pickup truck that veered off the street and struck a forklift at a construction site at about 2 a.m.
He died before paramedics could take him to a hospital.
Corbin Hamilton, 22, of Weatherford, Texas, was riding a motorcycle when he collided head-on with a truck in the 15200 block of state Route 67 in Poway at about 11:45 a.m. May 31. He died at the scene.
A day earlier, Brian Reed, 62, apparently lost control of his truck in the 2400 block of Mother Grundy Truck Trail in his hometown of Jamul, sending it crashing into a tree. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene shortly before noon.
On the morning of May 29, a vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian alongside the Interstate 805 offramp to 43rd Street in National City. Claudia Hernandez, a National City resident, 22, died at the scene.
