
A suspected DUI crash on a Sorrento Valley roadway left four people seriously injured Friday.
The head-on collision occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m., when a 26-year-old man lost control of the eastbound 2020 Toyota 86 he was driving on a curving stretch of roadway in the 6200 block of Carroll Canyon Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The sports car veered to the left into a westbound lane, where it collided with an oncoming 2012 Toyota 4Runner, Officer Jose Perales said.
The wreck left both drivers and two passengers in the SUV with severe injuries, including internal bleeding, spinal fractures and various broken bones.
One of the drivers was arrested. Driving under the influence of drugs has been determined to be a factor in the collision, according to Perales.
