The shooting deaths of an elderly couple in a Santee neighborhood have been ruled a case of murder-suicide, authorities reported Wednesday.
Sheriff’s deputies responding to an emergency call shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday found Michael Sheehan, 74, and his wife, 78-year-old Beverly Slater-Sheehan, dead in a residence in the 300 block of Lantern Crest Way.
Autopsies determined that Slater-Sheehan’s death was a homicide and her spouse’s was a suicide.
The husband “has been identified as the only suspect in the deaths,” said the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday.
