Firefighters extinguished an evening blaze Friday that damaged a trailer and spread into vegetation alongside state Route 67 in Lakeside, according to Cal Fire San Diego.
The slow-moving flames burned about a half-acre of brush north of Vigilante Road and southwest of San Vicente Reservoir, the state agency reported on Twitter.
Crews had stopped the fire spread at two acres just after 6 p.m.
Cal Fire plans to keep firefighters on scene for several hours to mop up and build a containment line. The Lakeside Fire Protection District assisted in the operation.
