Authorities Tuesday released the name of a 61-year-old inmate who died this week after being found unresponsive at Las Colinas women’s jail in Santee.

Deputies staffing the Riverview Parkway detention center found Teresita Tuazon of Vista unconscious at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Paramedics took her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Tuazon, who was alone in her cell when she was stricken, had suffered no obvious signs of suspicious injury, Lt. Thomas Seiver said.

A cause-of-death ruling is on hold pending autopsy results.
