San Diego County Sheriff’s Department personnel seized more than 3,900 marijuana plants Friday after they served a search warrant at an illegal operation in Warner Springs.
County code compliance officers also discovered violations and environmental-related crimes connected to the operation.
Investigators served the warrant in the 30800 block of Chihuahua Valley Road at about 7 a.m., according to Sgt. Kamon Harris.
Detectives seized 3,916 live marijuana plants valued at nearly $1.5 million. They said they believe the marijuana would end up in unlicensed Southern California pot shops.
The warrant, part of an investigation into illegal marijuana cultivation and sales in the county, was issued following community concerns regarding such operations near schools and residential areas.
