Deputies in Imperial Beach arrested two suspects, ages 20 and 17, who suffered from gunshot wounds late Saturday, authorities said Sunday.
A patrol witnessed the driver almost hit an ambulance near Palm and Ninth avenues at 11:51 p.m., sheriff’s Lt. Daniel Vengler said.
Deputies tried to pull over the vehicle, but the driver fled, forcing a pursuit, Vengler said.
They caught up to the vehicle, and found each of the young men with wounds, according to the lieutenant.
Deputies allegedly found an unregistered, loaded firearm in the car. The pair, both male according to a news report, were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Deputies arrested the driver on suspicion of reckless driving. Both face charges of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm and possession of a firearm, Vengler said.
