A fire that broke out Friday in a motor home parked in the driveway of a business injured a man, sending him to the hospital.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said a call came in at 3:42 p.m. of a structure fire near the corner of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Voltaire Street.
An employee at the Shell gas station next door said the fire was in a motor home parked in the driveway of Tropic Island Bird and Supply at 4760 Voltaire St. The witness said a man known to live in the motor home in the pet store driveway was transported by ambulance from the scene.
The identity of the victim and the nature of his injuries were not immediately known.
Estimates were not disclosed on damages to the motor home or its contents.
A total of 35 firefighters responded to the blaze along with four fire engines, two fire trucks, two medics, one division chief and two battalion chiefs, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue, which said a fire investigator had been assigned to determine the cause of the fire.
