Four minors and an adult suspected of car theft were arrested Sunday afternoon in Paradise Valley after an onboard vehicle security system tracking the car they were in alerted police and shut down the car.

According to a report by OnSceneTV, San Diego police were contacted by OnStar, which was tracking the allegedly stolen car Sunday morning and provided the department with information about the vehicle’s location. Working with officers, the OnStar advisor was able to remotely disable the vehicle when law enforcement was in place.

Several officers and a police dog closed in on the white Chevrolet sedan about 10:30 a.m. on the 9800 block of Potomac Street at Paradise Valley Road.

According to the report, there were four juvenile males and a 18-year-old male in the car. All were detained at the scene.

No other information was immediately available.
