A water main break Friday flooded a section of the Midway District and toppled a traffic signal and fire hydrant.
The break was reported around 3 p.m. on Midway Drive between Sports Area Boulevard and Kemper Street, according to San Diego Police. The break forced a closure of the road.
The flooding knocked a traffic signal to the ground, and sank a fire hydrant. No injuries were reported.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews are at the scene working to turn off the water, but there was no immediate indication of how long the street would remain blocked.
It was unclear if any residents or businesses had lost water service due to the break. Repairs were expected to continue through the night.
