At least one person was injured Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 5 in the far northern reaches of San Diego County.
The collision was reported around 8:50 a.m. on the southbound I-5 near the San Onofre nuclear power plant. At least two vehicles were involved and one overturned and went off the side of the freeway, leaving one person trapped inside, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities shut down all lanes on the southbound side of the freeway around 9:30 a.m. to allow a medical helicopter to land and carry at least one person to a hospital. By 10 a.m., all southbound lanes were reopened.
The CHP incident log listed the crash as “minor injury.”
