Firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out Friday morning in an industrial oven at a roofing company in Oceanside, authorities said.

Crews were called to a building at 3093 Industry St., which houses a roofing company, shortly before 1 a.m., Oceanside Fire Battalion Chief Jessamyn Specht said.

Firefighters arrived and found smoke coming from the building, then discovered that a large industrial oven used to make corrugated roofing panels was on fire about 200 feet inside the building, Specht said.

The fire was quickly contained before it could spread to adjacent machinery and supplies, he said. Crews opened doors to the warehouse while fighting the fire to allow the heavy smoke to clear.

All workers in the facility had already evacuated before crews arrived and no injuries were reported. Specht said.

The exact reason the industrial oven caught fire was under investigation.
