A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday morning in a crash at the scene of an earlier accident on Route 94 in the Emerald Hills neighborhood.

The fatal crash occurred on the eastbound freeway at the Federal Boulevard exit at 3:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

A videographer at the scene reported that a woman in a Honda Civic crossed three lanes and crashed into the center divider. Lyft and Uber drivers stopped and helped the woman out of her car.

Then the woman suddenly returned to the car and was hit by the motorcyclist, who crashed and was killed.

The highway was shut down for nearly two hours.

The initial accident in under investigation as a possible DUI.
