A vehicle struck and severely injured a pedestrian on a Pacific Beach street Friday, authorities reported.
The 32-year-old woman, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing Emerald Street at Dawes Street when she was hit shortly before 8 a.m., according to San Diego police.
Medics took her to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, Officer Tony Martinez said.
The 42-year-old motorist told investigators she failed to see the pedestrian while making a left turn from southbound Dawes Street.
