Two people wanted on suspicion of child abuse in Nevada were taken into custody at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said Wednesday.
Mallory Purnell, 23, and Brandon Kellermeier, 29, were arrested at the border Tuesday on outstanding warrants issued at the request of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, according to Border Patrol.
Purnell and Kellermeier were selected for additional examination at the border by agents after an officer observed “inconsistencies” during the initial inspection. An officer found the warrants following a fingerprint search, according to the agency.
They are awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.
