A stabbing victim in Linda Vista asked a passerby for help but was uncooperative when officers asked about his injuries, police said Wednesday.

The victim was walking in a residential area about 10 p.m. Tuesday when he passed another man in the and asked him to call for help, San Diego Police Officer John Buttle said.

Responding officers found the victim suffering from several apparent stab wounds, Buttle said. Paramedics took him to a hospital with injuries not expected to be life-threatening.

But questioned by police, “the victim was uncooperative and could not provide a suspect description or where the incident occurred,” Buttle said.

Detectives were assigned the case and were investigating.
