San Diego police Wednesday announced an arrest in the stabbing death of a 31-year-old man in Clairemont.

Brandon Ingram, 32, of San Diego, was booked into the San Diego County jail on suspicion of murdering San Diego resident Ronald Brandon Labastida.

The victim was found wounded and unresponsive inside a home in the 5200 block of Channing Street near Limerick Avenue around 12:45 a.m. that day. Paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m. of a stab wound to his upper body.

Lt. Mike Holden of the San Diego Police Department‘s Homicide Unit said the two men knew each other, but declined to elaborate further on the circumstances leading up to Labastida’s death.

Ingram was arrested on Monday, but for reasons connected to the investigation, the SDPD did not publicly announce the arrest until now, Holden said.
