A bicyclist suffered severe injuries Thursday when a motorcycle hit him as he tried to pedal across a four-lane street near Palomar College, the sheriff’s department reported.
The collision in the 400 block of West Mission Road in San Marcos occurred about 8:15 a.m.
Medics airlifted the 55-year-old bicyclist to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment of serious injuries to his head and spine, Deputy Mark Jamason said.
The crash left the motorcyclist with a single small cut to one of his fingers. He declined treatment at the scene, Jamason said.
