A 44-year-old man was stabbed to death Sunday after a fight broke out near a home in Encanto.
Several residents in the 1000 block of Evelyn Street heard an argument and went outside to find two men fighting, according to San Diego Police Lt. Dan Grubbs.
One of the men fled in a vehicle and a witness found the victim lying on the ground, called police and began CPR, Grubbs said.
Officers dispatched at 12:28 a.m. to 1037 Evelyn St. on a report of a stabbing found a witness performing CPR on the 44-year-old man, who was suffering from stab wounds to his torso, he said.
The victim, a resident of Lemon Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene. San Diego police homicide detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the stabbing attack to call them at (619) 531-2828.
