Utility crews restored electrical service Wednesday to all homes and businesses affected by an overnight outage that initially left nearly 2,900 addresses in Sorrento Valley, Torrey Pines and University City without power.
The blackout began for unknown reasons about 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.
As of shortly before sunrise, all but roughly 700 of the affected customers were back online. The remainder had power again by late morning, SDG&E reported.
The cause of the outage was under investigation.
