Carlsbad Police sought Thursday a driver who apparently used his pickup truck to repeatedly ram another motorist’s vehicle, sending the car into a nearby home.
Witnesses to the hit-and-run crash on Chestnut Avenue near Roosevelt Street told investigators that the truck’s driver appeared to have intentionally crashed into a gray Nissan Versa shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday in order to “damage the vehicle and injure the driver,” according to a Carlsbad police statement.
The 32-year-old victim was still in his car when it was pushed into a parked BMW and a residence, police said. The suspect then sped off.
The attacked motorist suffered minor injuries and was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla to treated. No one inside the house was hurt.
The truck used in the possible road rage incident was described as a light-colored, full-size, lifted truck similar to a Nissan Titan with front end damage and it may have gray paint transferred from the victim’s car. A detailed description of the driver was not immediately available.
Anyone with additional information on the crash was asked to call Carlsbad police at (760) 931-2197.
