A man chased two people with a knife in La Mesa, then was arrested.
Elijah Rivers, 20, of La Mesa, was to be booked into the San Diego Central Jail on one count of suspected assault with a deadly weapon, said Sgt. Scott Hildebrand of the La Mesa Police Department.
One of the people Rivers allegedly chased, a male, received minor injuries but it is unclear whether a knife caused those, Hildebrand said. The other victim, a female, was unharmed.
The violence began around 2 p.m., police were called to the 7700 block of Orien Avenue in response to a domestic-related dispute.
Rivers, Hildebrand said, was reported chasing people on the street in front of a residence before he fled.
La Mesa police, assisted by a San Diego Police helicopter and police dog, pursued Rivers to the 4600 block of Date Avenue, where he was caught at 2:28 p.m., Hildebrand said.
