What was initially thought to be a mountain lion that somehow became stuck inside a warehouse Wednesday morning near Brown Field turned out to be an ordinary house cat.
Someone called for help around 7:40 a.m. after what appeared to be a mountain lion was spotted on surveillance video inside the unoccupied building on Corporate Center Drive near Otay Mesa Road, according to San Diego police.
However, a second surveillance video showed a smaller and presumably less dangerous cat.
Animal control and police officers were summoned to the scene but had cleared by about 9 a.m., authorities said.
