A man attempting to dash across a street in the Bay Terraces neighborhood against a red light was struck and severely injured by a teenage motorist, a San Diego Police officer said Wednesday.
The victim, who is in his 40s, suffered a serious but non-life- threatening head injury as he was struck by a westbound Ford Fiesta at the intersection of Paradise Valley and Deep Dell roads around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The “don’t walk” signal was lit, but the man attempted to cross anyway, he said.
The 17-year-old girl behind the wheel of the car was apparently uninjured.
