Authorities Wednesday publicly identified the 45-year-old Fallbrook man killed this week in a motorcycle crash in Bonsall.
Westley Anthony Roberts lost control of his 2010 Victory Cross Country motorcycle while riding north on Camino Del Rey near Camino Del Cielo at a high rate of speed shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol. Witnesses told investigators that Roberts had been overtaking vehicles by crossing into oncoming traffic.
Roberts crashed and was thrown from the motorcycle. He then struck a mailbox and a tree, authorities said. The motorcycle was found about 100 feet away. He died at the scene, authorities said.
