A brush fire broke out on an embankment off a South Bay freeway early Tuesday, causing traffic delays for morning commuters, authorities said.
The fire off Interstate 5 near E Street erupted around 6 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued a SigAlert, reflecting slow traffic through the area.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
