A woman was severely burned in a predawn fire at a Poway home Sunday, and arson investigators were checking to see if it was intentionally set.
The fire at the house in the 13000 block of Belvedere Drive near Tierra Bonita Road was reported at 5:10 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, which dispatches for the Poway Fire Department. Firefighters knocked down the blaze in just under a half hour, a fire dispatcher said.
The fire was deemed suspicious and the sheriff’s department’s bomb and arson unit was summoned to investigate its cause, sheriff’s Lt. Jim Walker said.
Four residents were displaced, the fire dispatcher said.
