A 27-year-old man carrying beer through a Mount Hope alley was attacked and robbed by a man wielding a metal bar, police said Monday.
The attack in the south alley of 3500 Island Ave. was reported at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick.
The victim told officers that the robber demanded some of the beer, then struck the victim in his leg when he refused and took the beer anyway, Battrick said in a statement, adding that the victim’s injury was minor.
Police described the suspect as a roughly 30-year-old, 6-foot-tall Hispanic man with a thin build and small mustache. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, Battrick said, adding that the suspect fled in a white sedan with a black bumper.
