A body was found Wednesday in Mission Trails Regional Park.
The discovery in the popular hiking area east of Tierrasanta and west of Santee was reported about noon, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The victim’s identity and cause of death were not immediately known.
San Diego police were called in to investigate, Fire-Rescue spokesman Lee Swanson said.
Channel 10 reported the remains were found closer to the Santee side of the park.
