Crews quickly extinguished two small brush fires alongside the southbound lanes of Interstate 805, near Market Street in the Mount Hope area of San Diego, according to a department spokesman.
There are no reports of imminent structural damages or injuries.
Wednesday a fire erupted near Santee, while firefighters were called to Spring Valley Thursday. All the blazes have occurred during the recent heat wave, which has included dry conditions and gusty winds. A cooldown is expected gradually through the weekend.
