Authorities pursued a 42-year-old suspect in Vista Wednesday, leading to a multiple crashes, one involving a deputy, and a successful search in Oceanside.
The San Diego County Sheriffs Department reports that Julio Cruz was arrested, after authorities focused on searching the 4200 block of Tiberon Drive in Oceanside. Multiple agencies assisted in attempts to take the man, wanted on a felony warrant, into custody.
The incident began around 2:30 p.m. when deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station joined the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force in seeking Cruz out.
The deputy’s accident occurred during the pursuit, when the vehicle collided with another at Hacienda and South Emerald in Vista. The deputy was not hurt, according to a Sheriff’s news release.
Officials said the suspect caused two car crashes during the chase. It’s unclear if any injuries resulted.
