Nine motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and 13 vehicles were impounded during an overnight sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint in the East Village section of downtown San Diego, a police officer said Sunday.
The checkpoint in the 1400 block of G Street began at 10:57 p.m. Saturday and ended today at 3 a.m., said San Diego police officer Mark McCullough.
McCullough said 2,100 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 1,051 of those vehicles being screened by officers.
