Two people died Saturday when a sedan veered off Interstate 8 and crashed through a fence in the Flinn Springs area, west of Alpine.
The crash was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes approaching Lake Jennings Park Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Crews accessed the crash from the adjacent 9500 block of Blossom Valley Road near New Colt Court, a CHP dispatcher said.
One person was taken to a hospital, but it was not clear if that person was one of the two reported dead following the crash, or if that was a third person who had been involved, a Heartland Fire & Rescue dispatcher said.
