The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County recorded its largest daily increase since Oct. 5 Saturday, rising 1.5 cents to $4.465.
A run of five decreases in six days totaling 2.2 cents that ended Friday with an increase of one-tenth had dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Dec. 26, 2022, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service
The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago but 6.5 cents less than one month ago and 27.9 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.97 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The average price per kilowatt hour of electricity at public electric vehicle charging stations in California is 37.1 cents.
A five-day streak of increases to the national average price totaling 2.7 cents ended with a decrease of four-tenths of a cent to $3.046. It is 2.3 cents more than one week ago, but 1.7 cents less than one month ago and 7.4 cents lower than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.97 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“We could be heading into a period of relative stability when it comes to pump prices,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “Despite some reports to the contrary, the national average never fell below $3 this year, and it might not as a record 119 million people are forecast to travel this holiday season. And 107 million will go by car, which is a lot of fueling up.”
