Ben & Jerry’s is giving away — yes — free scoops for an even sweeter cause.
On Tuesday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., San Diegans can participate in Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day at Seaport Village, and all donations raised will support Monarch School Project.
For one day only, customers can enjoy a free ice cream scoop of any flavor and an opportunity to donate to Monarch School Project, a nonprofit providing youth and their families experiencing homelessness with academic and social growth, emotional support and life skills designed to help them succeed.
“Thank you to Ben & Jerry’s at Seaport Village for its continued partnership,” said Monarch School President and CEO Afira DeVries. “As the only school in the nation that serves exclusively unhoused youth and their families, we depend on our community to advance our mission. However, we are only as effective as we are supported. As the unhoused population nationwide grows, so has a demand for our critical services, and with generous support of the community, we are scaling up our operations to bring the Monarch Model to other schools and organizations to help break the cycle of homelessness.”
All proceeds generated from donation jars at the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop located in Seaport Village at 859 A West Harbor Drive will be dedicated to supporting Monarch School Project’s initiatives.
