
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Saturday for the 11th time in 12 days, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.819.
The average price has risen 12.7 cents over the past 12 days, including 1.2 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.6 cents more than one week ago, 19.6 cents more than one month ago and 5.1 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.616 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Southern California refineries are continuing to report planned and unplanned maintenance, which creates supply uncertainty and drives up prices at the pump,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
The national average price declined two-tenths of a cent to $3.282, ending a streak of 10 consecutive increases. The national average price is 9.9 cents more than one week ago and 19.4 cents more than one month ago, but 13.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.734 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
