The KFMB Stations announced that Brett Winterble, weekday afternoon talk-show host from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 760 KFMB, has extended his contract with the AM station.

Winterble told the Times of San Diego his extension is for three years through July 2021.

“I am thrilled to continue to work with America’s finest news-talk station in America’s finest city,” said Winterble. “The next several years will see an amazing amount of change in our community, our country and world, and I am excited to leverage all of our assets to bring our audience the most entertaining and informative content available anywhere.”

“We are excited to continue our relationship with Brett,” said Dave Sniff, director of programming at the KFMB Stations. “His ability to digest the daily news cycle and make it relevant for the San Diego community is unmatched and truly impressive. Brett will play a key role in creating unique content, not only for KFMB-AM, but also for our various digital platforms.”

Winterble joined KFMB as afternoon host in September 2015. Previously, he was afternoon host and sportscaster on KFWB 980-AM in Los Angeles. During the past 20 years, he also has worked as a producer on shows hosted by Roger Hedgecock, Michael Reagan and Rush Limbaugh.

“Nobody has defined radio like Rush has,” said Winterble, who worked with Limbaugh in New York for six years. “He is a model of professionalism. His core focus is to entertain and keep the audience. And he is constantly show-prepping. His work ethic is unbelievable.”

As a producer with Michael Reagan, Winterble said Reagan “understands the intersection between Hollywood and Washington. And, why wouldn’t he. His parents included a U.S. president and Oscar winner. Michael has a marvelous, practical down-to-earth insight.”

For the past year, every weekday morning, Winterble has hosted a two-hour show on Newsmax TV. The set is simple. He looks straight into the camera with a scenic photo of San Diego behind him and receives phone calls and banters with viewers in a discussion of current events, such as the recent 4.1 economic growth number. Winterble said the Newsmax TV audience is roughly 50 million households.
