Trevi Hills Winery, which produces premium red and white varietals in the hills northeast of Lakeside, will celebrate its grand opening this weekend.

The 3,000-square-foot winery at at 13010 Muth Valley Road will be open from 10 a.m. to dusk on both Saturday and Sunday.

The winery offers panoramic views of the Muth Valley and the 800-acre, gated Trevi Hills residential community. Grand opening festivities include discounted wine flights, food trucks and bocce ball.

“Our tranquil surroundings bring to mind the hills of Tuscany,” says Michael Larrañaga, director of winery operations. “And our wines reflect that Old World style.”

Grapevines were originally planted on the 4-acre vineyard in 2013, and the first vintage was harvested last year.

All wines will be produced on site with state-of-the-art wine making equipment and facilities by winemaker Renato Sais, who previously worked at the Maurice Car’rie Winery in Temecula and at his family’s winery in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico.

The winery isn’t just for casual visits. The staff will also manage vineyards on home sites in the nearby community.

“We’re creating an authentic wine country lifestyle at Trevi Hills,” said Matt Deal, general manager of the community. “Homeowners can set aside a portion of their 1- to 2-acre home site as a vineyard that will be professionally managed by the Trevi Hills Winery team.”

He estimated that every 1,000 square feet planted with grape vines typically yields about 75 bottles of wine.

Homes in the community range from 3,000 to 3,500 square feet and are priced from the mid $900,000s.
