Walmart plans to hire approximately 85 people beginning this month to work at its Supercenter in Poway, where an expansion will be completed this fall.
The Supercenter is an expansion of the current Walmart store to add fresh groceries. The expansion was approved by the Poway City Council in 2011 and is currently under construction.
Walmart is accepting applications seven days a week at a temporary hiring kiosk at the store at 13425 Community Road or online at careers.walmart.com.
The company said it will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. Interested veterans may find out more at walmartcareerswithamission.com.
Store Manager Arthur Gladue said the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. “With the growth of our store, we are excited to also expand the number of associates we have serving the community in order to bring fresh groceries to Poway,”he said.
