The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose three-tenths of a cent today to $4.125, the fifth increase in six days.

Before that, there had been a 27-day streak of decreases.

The average price is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 13.8 cents higher than one year ago but 16 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The rising pump prices follow a sharp increase in the Los Angeles wholesale price, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

“We’re not seeing an obvious reason for this wholesale increase,” Spring said.
