Scripps Health and Rady Children’s Hospital partnered to provide hospice care for young patients, the healthcare organizations announced Tuesday.
The program will operate under the Scripps Hospice license and provide end-of-life care tailored for individual pediatric patients.
“We are proud to partner with Rady Children’s Hospital to help care for these young patients,” said Scripps President and CEO Chris Van Gorder. “These children and their families are facing an incredibly difficult time. With Scripps and Rady Children’s working together, we can make it a bit easier by providing the best care possible.”
Rady Children’s Hospital and Scripps Health already have partnerships for mental health and use of a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center.
Scripps Health began offering palliative care last year after the closure of San Diego Hospice.
